No, mini bikes are definitely not just for children. Adults can also have a blast with the bikes from Italian manufacturer Ohvale in the Driving Center of the Red Bull Ring. Their engine power is manageable, the ground much closer and the knee easier to drag. In a playful way, you can learn to push yourself to the limit and internalise the movement patterns that you will also need on large bikes. By the way – everyone is welcome to take their own mini bike out too!
Those who want to experience the special driving fun on an Ohvale MiniGP Bike have the best opportunity to do so at the Driving Center of the Red Bull Ring.
From next year on, for the first time there will be a national MiniGP championship in Austria with the FIM MiniGP Austria Series. Here, young Austrian motorcycle talents will get the chance to qualify for another “Road to MotoGP program”. In addition to the Austrian Junior Cup, this series is another steppingstone on young girls and boys’ path towards MotoGP.
The inaugural FIM MiniGP Austria Series season in 2022 will be held at the Red Bull Ring in May and the season finale in August and September respectively. (The exact race calendar will be published in the coming weeks).
The FIM MiniGP World Series aims to provide an equal platform for young riders worldwide. MiniGP competitions from around the world will thus be united and standardized to best develop the skills of young riders and improve their chances on the road to MotoGP. From 2022, the minibike championship with five racing events will also be available in Austria. Ambassador of the FIM MiniGP Austria Series is motorcycle world championship race winner Gustl Auinger.
Riders must be between 10 and 14 years young and compete on identical Ohvale GP-0 160 machines. The top 2 of the FIM MiniGP Austria Series will get the chance to face international competition at the FIM MiniGP World Series Final 2022 in Valencia. The World Final winner will secure a place on one of the Road to MotoGP programs.
Applications start in September via the minigpaustria website.
