ARRIVAL TO THE RED BULL RING BY CAR

Getting to Spielberg from any direction. On the 2022 MotoGP weekend, the approach roads to the Red Bull Ring along with most of the main transport routes in Austria are fully open. Due to the expected heavy traffic and with some road worksProjekt Spielberg recommends the following routes, depending on your departure point:

Vienna / East Austria: S6 –St. Michael junction – S36

Graz / South Styria: A9 – Gleinalmtunnel* – St. Michael junction – S36

Salzburg: A10 – B96 – St. Michael im Lungau – Tamsweg – Murau – Judenburg

Upper Austria: A9 – Bosrucktunnel* – St. Michael junction – S36

Carinthia: B317 – Neumarkter Sattel – Judenburg – S36 or alternatively A2 – B78 via Obdach – Weißkirchen in der Steiermark (then follow local signs)

Schladming / Selzthal region: B320 – Liezen – B113 – Trieben (not the A9) – B114 – Triebener Tauern – Pöls – via Judenburg to the Red Bull Ring (follow local signs)

Use the S36 Murtal Schnellstraße motorway and take either exit Knittelfeld West, Zeltweg Ost or Zeltweg West to get to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Please follow the local traffic control system on the S36 and along the country roads. Should the traffic conditions make it impossible for you to take the above mentioned exits, please follow the instructions given to you by the executive forces. Depending on your arrival route, you will be directed to the nearest parking area. Please memorise the number of your parking area indicated at the entrance to the respective area.

TIPPS:

  • The early bird catches the worm: Please note that you should expect extensive traffic volumes at the time of your arrival. We therefore recommend trying to arrive before 07:30.
  • With the Spielberg app acting a loyal travel companion there are numerous advantages when it comes to arriving at the circuit. The app allows users to calculate their arrival route, and when you leave the circuit, the Find my Car feature will help you to find where you parked your car or motorcycle in a matter of seconds – as you want to use all your precious time at the Red Bull Ring for as many thrilling experiences as possible, after all! All the information about the app can be found here.
  • Traffic reports on Hitradio Ö3 radio station provide regular updates on the current traffic situation. The Austrian motor-way operator ASFINAG‘s free app, too, offers comprehensive information regarding traffic jams, accidents, roadworks, closed roads and rest areas.
