MOTOGP: ARRIVAL TO THE RED BULL RING BY CAR OR MOTORCYCLE

On the 2022 MotoGP weekend, the approach roads to the Red Bull Ring along with most of the main transport routes in Austria are fully open. Due to the expected heavy traffic and with some road workswe recommend the following routes, depending on your departure point:

 

  • Graz / South Styria: A2 – Bad St. Leonhard – B78 Obdach – Weißkirchen in der Steiermark or 
    A9 – Gleinalmtunnel* – St. Michael junction – S36 (Construction site, please expect delays!)

  • Salzburg: A10 – B96 – St. Michael im Lungau – Tamsweg – Murau – Judenburg

  • Upper Austria: A9 – Bosrucktunnel* – Trieben – B114 – Triebener Tauern – Pöls – via Judenburg or
    A9 – Bosrucktunnel* – St. Michael junction – S36 (​Construction site, please expect delays!)

  • Carinthia: B317 – Neumarkter Sattel – Judenburg – S36 or B78 – Weißkirchen in der Steiermark (then follow local signs)

  • Schladming / Selzthal region: B320 – Liezen – B113 – Trieben (not the A9) – B114 – Triebener Tauern – Pöls – via Judenburg to the Red Bull Ring (follow local signs)

*ATTENTION: Toll tunnel – you can book here your digital toll in advance. 

Depending on your arrival route, you will be directed to the nearest parking area. Please memorise the number of your parking area indicated at the entrance to the respective area.

 

TIPPS:

  • The early bird catches the worm: Please note that you should expect extensive traffic volumes at the time of your arrival. We therefore recommend trying to arrive before 07:30.
  • User the park & ride offer: Therme Fohnsdorf – Red Bull Ring (Friday to Sunday)
    from 08:00 – 20:00 every 30 minutes
    from 20:00 – 23:00 every 60 minutes (Sunday until 19:00)

  • Traffic reports on Hitradio Ö3 radio station provide regular updates on the current traffic situation. The Austrian motor-way operator ASFINAG‘s free app, too, offers comprehensive information regarding traffic jams, accidents, roadworks, closed roads and rest areas.
