The countdown is on to the F1 Austrian Grand Prix

Red Bull Ring is all ready to welcome fans across the world who will be travelling to the FORMULA 1 BWT GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2021 and creating an incredible atmosphere!
Countdown FORMULA 1 - GP of Austria 2021 läuft

Red Bull Ring, the local Mur Valley and the wider Styria region are all ready to welcome fans across the world who will be travelling to the FORMULA 1 BWT GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2021 and creating an incredible atmosphere!

The F1 Fan Zone at the Austrian Grand Prix will be open from Thursday to Sunday and guarantees huge amounts of fun around the top motorsport series. Starting with music acts and fan challenges, via a vehicle exhibition to bungee jumping, there is a fantastic schedule awaiting the fans away from the racing circuit. As an extra treat for all football fans there will be public viewing showing the quarter final matches of the European championship on a giant screen!

Support series and side events on the Grand Prix circuit and in the air above are sure to thrill motorsport fans this weekend. Don’t miss any of the information or updates on the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix with the pit radio!

The countdown is on to the FORMULA 1 BWT GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2021 with one highlight following another from THURSDAY 1 July!

THURSDAY 1 JULY: PIT LANE TOUR – FANS EXPERIENCE FORMULA 1 UP CLOSE

The fans have another unique opportunity at the Austrian Grand Prix to see the final preparations of the Formula 1 teams up close in the Pit Lane Tour. Weekend-ticket holders can gain exclusive insights from the pits of the Formula 1 teams at 15:40 on 1 July in the Public Pit Lane Tour.

The tickets were distributed on a first come, first served basis and are already fully booked. For anyone who managed to get a free ticket, the following rules of participation apply.

The F1 Fan Zone is to open for visitors on Thursday from 12:00 – 20:00 CET.

FRIDAY 2 JULY: ENGINES TO ROAR!

Things are going to get noisy on Friday at the Red Bull Ring again! The day is to start at 9:30 with the first free practice session in FIA Formula 3, before the second practice session from 13:50 to 14:20. The elite series of F1 will have its first free practice session at 11:30, before the second session in the afternoon between 15:00 to 16:00. Between these at 12:40, and afterwards at 16:10, the Red Bull Driftbrothers will provide huge amounts of drift action on the Grand Prix circuit.

Along with the biggest series in world motorsport and FIA Formula 3, two side series will be hitting the accelerators on Friday. Qualifying for the W Series with exclusively female drivers can be seen from 16:30 to 17:00. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has a lot of local interest on the Austrian Grand Prix weekend. The Austrian team BWT Lechner Racing have three cars starting. Three locals – Christopher Zöchling as well as Philipp and Moritz Sager – will also give their all. The first practice session takes place on Friday from 17:25 to 18:10.

The F1 Fan Zone will be open on Friday from 08:00 – 23:00 CET.

SATURDAY 3 JULY: VIRTUAL STYRIAN GREEN CARPET, QUALIFYING

With the Virtual Styrian Green Carpet from 9:00 to 12:00 in the morning, fans have the chance to make a perfect start to the Formula 1 weekend from the comfort of their own homes. In the exclusive web session, fans have the unique opportunity to meet F1 stars and teams online and ask them questions.

Just register here and with a little luck you will be there live. You can‘t possibly buy the Backstage Pass, as an invitation to the teams meeting can only be won!

The F1 stars are then back in intense action at the Red Bull Ring between 12:00 and 15:00 – in the third free practice session, followed by qualifying. Before then at 10.35 is the first race in FIA Formula 3 followed by its second race at 17.45. Between these comes qualifying for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at 13:25 and the W Series race at 16:30.

The Red Bull Driftbrothers will complete a few more laps in drift mode again on Saturday at 13:10.

The F1 Fan Zone will be open on Saturday from 08:00 – 23:00.

SUNDAY 4 JULY: FORMULA 1 BWT GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2021

Early birds will get a reward again this year with those arriving between 07:00 – 09:00 CET receiving a voucher for a free coffee or Red Bull.

From 9:00 there is another chance in the Virtual Styrian Green Carpet to see the teams live before the big race and give fan messages in person to the drivers. Register, and with a bit of luck you could be one of the fans winning the chance to take part in the online meeting with the F1 stars. At 11:05, the FIA Formula 3 is to hold its last race before the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup follows at 12:15 – then the final countdown to the #AustrianGP begins:

13:20 – 13:50 Formula 1, Driver presentation
13:55 – 14:20 Red Bull Aerobatic Triple
14:44 – 14:46 National anthem and flag flown
15:00 – 17:00 Formula 1 Großer Preis von Österreich 2021 (71 laps or 120 minutes)
