Red Bull Ring Classics Boss GP

The Boss GP is like the Premier League of F1 cars. The four-letter acronym BOSS stands for ‘Big Open Single Seater’. Consequently, only the big and powerful formula racing cars of yesteryear qualify for the grid. In the framework of the Red Bull Ring Classics, the Boss GP will be returning the V8 and V10 sound of the ‘good old days’ of Formula 1 to Spielberg. A unique mixture of Formula 1, Formula 2 and GP2, World Series up to Formula 3000 cars awaits you.

Motorsport fans can look forward to action-packed and thunderous motorsport at its best on the weekend of 9th ‑ 11th June. The Red Bull Ring Classics offers you the rare and exclusive opportunity to see these incredibly fascinating cars both up close and in action. The performance of cars like the Toro Rosso STR1 is as breath-taking as ever. The F1 car will be driven by record champion Ingo Gerstl (Salzburg).

Exotic racers chase F1 cars

Modified cars start in the OPEN vehicle class that are no longer correspond to the original regulations of their racing series. The best-known representative in this illustrious field is ex-Formula 1 driver Antonio Pizzonia. The Brazilian drove in Formula 1 alongside Mark Webber at Jaguar Racing in 2003 and will compete for Austrian team HS Engineering at this weekend’s Red Bull Ring Classics.

Vettel debuts in GP2

Fabian Vettel, Sebastian Vettel’s little brother, makes his Boss GP debut at the Red Bull Ring. With a GP2 car from the Austrian team Top Speed, the 24-year-old could immediately cause a sensation in the Formula class. Fans can also look forward to Alexander Geier’s debut in the Dallara GP2.  Last year, the young man from Salzburg made a big showing in the Super Lights category. The Styrian local matador and experienced mountain racer Christian Ferstl, is also at the start with a GP2 car.
