– these are just a few of the illustrious names that will be competing in the International GT Open on the weekend of 8th 10th September at the Red Bull Ring. Since making its debut in 2011, Spielberg has been a permanent fixture on the GT Open racing calendar; indeed, the 200th race in the series at the Red Bull Ring took place in 2019 (pre-pandemic).
The race weekend traditionally begins on Friday with two practice sessions (60 minutes each). Saturday opens with a 40-minute qualifying session before proceeding to Race 1. Sunday is similar, with qualifying followed by Race 2. There is intense activity throughout the weekend as the drivers in their GT3 cars battle for vital championship points.
